A kind-hearted individual discovered a charming Beagle/Hound hybrid at a construction site, a notorious dumping ground for abandoned dogs. The poor creature was unable to stand and had evidently been lying in the cold dirt for several days. Upon closer inspection, the individual noticed that the dog’s back legs were swollen and crooked, as were her front legs.
The good Samaritan wasted no time in seeking assistance, and Stray Rescue of St. Louis quickly responded to the call and rescued the injured dog. Before they arrived, the caller provided what little aid he could by using his coat as a makeshift blanket.
It was apparent that the dog’s legs were severely broken, so they transported her in their jeep. Remarkably, she didn’t utter a sound. Upon arriving at the veterinary hospital, they discovered that the young dog had multiple fractures in both of her legs.
Regrettably, the damage was severe, and funds were required to cover the cost of surgery to repair the damage. They named the dog Polar Express, and she has a long road ahead of her to heal and recuperate.
