A couple of rescuers, Roman and Jen McConn, responded to a Facebook post about two abandoned dogs and quickly headed to the location.
Although their main hope was to find the dogs in good condition, they were pleasantly surprised to discover a mother and her puppy cuddled up together, seeking comfort and safety.
The founder of Project Freedom Ride, who was assisting in the rescue, was unsure how the dogs would react to human intervention. However, both dogs displayed a remarkable level of trust and cooperated willingly with their rescuers.
Animal control was called in to help, and they were more than happy to assist.
A local dog advocate named Becky McArdle also arranged for the dogs to be examined by a veterinarian, who found only minor issues from their time on their own.
Fortunately, Mina and Milo, as they were named, were fostered and provided with food, a warm bed, and a bath. They are now recovering and will be available for adoption in March once they have fully healed.
It’s a happy ending for these two furry friends!
