Abandoned But Never Alone: A Loyal Dog’s Heartfelt Wait for Her Family’s Return

Nirvana didn’t choose to live in an empty lot beside a car wash, but her family abandoned her there with some food and a blanket. The faithful dog remained curled up on her makeshift bed, waiting for her family’s return for two days.

Logan’s Legacy dog rescue founder, Suzette Hall, was contacted by workers from the neighboring car wash who had noticed Nirvana sleeping on the curb. They set out a new bag of food and called Hall to help when they realized that her kibble supply was running low.

Although Nirvana ate the food that was left out for her, she mostly slept for the entire two days in the empty lot. When Hall arrived, Nirvana was too exhausted to react much, but Hall approached her carefully and was able to leash her up.

Nirvana was taken to the vet, where she received a much-needed bath that seemed to wash away her sadness. Despite being overall healthy, Nirvana was suffering from a broken heart, but her vet team was determined to help her heal.

After just a few days, Nirvana was placed in a foster home that would help her forget her sad past. The once-exhausted dog now has a renewed zest for life and loves spending time outside, going on long walks or hikes. Although Nirvana is still waiting for a forever home, she’s making sure to show her gratitude to her foster parents and rescuers.
